I'm pointing to a previous post of mine today, "Good" Grief.
I'll be reflecting on this theme over the next several days as I travel to be with close family members because of the loss of my favorite uncle.
The list I shared there in that post is quite helpful for us as we face loss.
I'm thinking that #10 on that list will be my motto for the next several weeks:
10. Live today as fully as possible, affirm yourself often and keep in mind that, in time, everything changes.

Gloria,
Another touching and all-too-real post. Thank you for sharing. I hope your resolve and strength are holding up.
My mother was just diagnosed with a form of cancer, and is scheduled for surgery. Of course, we won't know how 'bad' things are until the surgery is done.
I take some reassurance in your words.

Rob ~
I so appreciate your kind words.
Having *been there* with my father as he battled prostate cancer, you have my deepest empathy and compassion.
I wish you and your mom much strength, courage, and sense of total well-being. You'll be in my thoughts.

Gloria,
Thank you for sharing this list. My husband and I recently attended two funerals in four days. Now we look at our priorities and perceived problems differently. It seems strange that dealing with death would change how we live our lives.

Pam ~ You're so welcome, and please accept my sincere condolences for your losses.
I agree - facing death up close - can have a powerful effect on us, which has the potential to be quite liberating and deeply positive, despite its measure of loss and accompanying grief.
Take good care!
